AI Platform: Responsibilities¶
The platform team is XMMS under a managed-service contract, or your own team when you run the platform yourself. See Operating models. The generic split between platform and workload team is on Responsibilities. This page adds what is specific to the AI Platform.

| Models deployed in the account and their quota | Yes | Asks for a model or more quota |
| Create, change and remove a project | Yes, after a request | Requests |
| Project resources (storage, Application Insights, connections, capability host) | Yes | |
| Project role assignments for the owner, contributor and reader groups | Yes (the module) | Owners decide the group members |
| Workload identity and its role assignments | Depends on who may assign roles on the shared resources, agree this with your platform team | Defines which roles the application needs |
| Agents, tools, prompts, evaluations | Yes | |
| Application code, container images, deployment of the application | Yes | |
| Content in the project: files, vectors, threads | Yes | |
| Alerts and monitoring of the application | Yes | |
| Monitoring of the shared platform resources | Yes | |

Groups and members
The module assigns roles to Entra ID groups. Who is a member of the groups is managed by the team that owns the groups. How access is granted or activated (for example with PIM) is on Access, groups and PIM.
What the workload team should know¶
- Agents keep conversations in a shared Cosmos DB account. Do not store data in agents that your organisation may not keep there.
- The modules and the roles are the same for every project. Special rights on shared resources are a request to the platform team, with a reason.
- The sources do not contain an SLA, support hours or a backup and restore design for the Foundry data stores. Do not assume any: ask your platform team. See Known issues.
